About Us

Founded in 1970, Solquim is the company in the group dedicated to sales and distribution of solvents and chemical products, and is currently one of the main distributors of the country. We serve a wide variety of sectors, including those of paints, graphic arts, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, mechanical metal, resins, footwear, construction, dry cleaning and hardware stores among many others.

Grupo Solquim was also recognized as polymer distributor until 2015, the year in which we carried out the separation of our divisions into two independent companies. Solquim remained as the company dedicated to solvent distribution and our polymer division made a strategic alliance with M. Holland Company, after which M. Holland Latin America was founded.

Our History

Our group of companies was founded by Javier Lebrija Vázquez Gómez, born in Torreón, Coahuila in 1942. He lived in Mexico City practically his whole life, and it was here where he built his life as a businessman. He graduated as Chemical Engineer from la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and began his professional career performing various positions related to the chemical industry. In 1970, he decided to become independent and venture into the motor transport business, with the founding of the group’s first company, Transquimia. The business started with the purchasing of trucks and was dedicated to the transportation of lubricant oil.

In the early eighties, he decided to begin the distribution of solvents, and that is how Solquim began to operate. Almost a decade later, in 1991, it enters into the commercialization of polymers.

During the following years, and with the support of his motor transport business, Solquim focused on the distribution of two lines of products, resulting in a very well recognized company in the plastic and solvent sectors.
